As an organization, we have experts to help serve our many customers – and we’ve added new capabilities along the way. In July of 2022, Nelnet Renewable Energy acquired GRNE Solar, a premier Midwest engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firm that had been serving commercial and industrial customers with quality solar engineering, design, construction, and installation since 2012. Our two organizations share a passion for renewable energy, we’re driven to innovate, and we’re fully committed to creating positive customer experiences.

We’ve Rebranded

As of August 7, 2023, we rebranded GRNE Solar as Nelnet Renewable Energy, allowing us to create one expanded team providing full offerings to all of our customers. “This transition supports a focus on operational excellence by optimizing people, systems, processes, and workflows to ensure that we maximize value for all our stakeholders. This name reflects our company’s unwavering commitment to the solar industry,” said Nelnet Renewable Energy President Scott Gubbels.

With the rebrand, the combined organization has been able to create one unified website that will meet the needs of all of its clients and allow them to see, for the first time, the full vertical integration of Nelnet Renewable Energy’s offerings. As Gubbels points out, there are few renewable energy companies that offer Nelnet Renewable Energy’s ability to finance, develop, deploy, and manage clean energy solutions. When you add our financial stability, longevity, and reputation as a purpose-driven organization, we really are unique. We’re excited that our website showcases our diverse capabilities in one place for the many audiences we serve.
