Taking a few minutes to sign up for community solar also signs you up for automatic savings on your energy bill. Plus, you’re contributing to a cleaner environment. Best of all, renters, small businesses, and homeowners can all participate in community solar and benefit. But what does the sign-up process look like?
How Sign-Up Works
All it takes is five minutes to sign up for community solar.
- Enter your ZIP code to find a community solar farm near you. (If there isn’t one, you can join our waitlist.)
- Create your account and verify your utility provider.
Within just a few minutes, you’re participating in clean energy. You can just sit back, relax – and when your solar farm starts producing energy, you start saving on your energy costs. Your savings will vary depending on the state program or specific solar project. For example, people who subscribe to community solar in New York can save up to 10% on energy costs, while people in Maine save up to 15% on their electric bill.
You’ll learn how to access your solar dashboard, where you’ll see photos of your solar farm and learn how your participation impacts the environment. (If your farm isn’t producing energy yet, we’ll have photos of the solar farm in progress.) Plus, we’ll stay in touch to let you know when your farm will go live, when you’ll start seeing savings – and share other useful information about solar.
